So, as technology continues to move forward, so does the the need change the way we accept payment. Cash and Cheques are quickly becoming a thing of the past and have been for nearly a decade infact. Even the humble chimney sweeps have to modernize and move forward.
At Hodgsons Chimney Sweeps we have, for many years carried World Pay card terminals so our customers and clients can pay on the day via credit/ debit card. This means no worrying about paying the bill at a later date for yourselves and ourselves. It also means no trip to the cash point, no trip to the bank for us and no digging about for the cheque book! Ofcourse with all good things there are costs involved these costs are incurred by ourselves and not our customers.
Last year we took the decision to go over to a mobile invoicing and banking app Quickbooks to make ours and your lives easier. Coming away from our home made invoices and Excel sheets for accounts. So what does this mean for us? Invoices, customers, payments, dates, visits are all stored on a central database meaning we have easy access to our customers on mobile, ipad and the computer.
It means we can quickly send invoices, estimates, reminders on the day to our customers via our mobiles. It also gives a detailed audit trail of our accounts which keeps the accountant happy! What does it mean for you? It means you can pay via invoice within 14 days of our visit. It means you can pay pre our visit via the app with a post dated invoice. It means we have easy access to your details so we know what services you need next year ( we do more than just sweep chimneys). It is a professional, clean and sharp format making for easy access and you have a reciept via your email so no clunky paper! It also means you can pay via Bacs, card, paypal, cash, and cheque.
In the year ahead we will be going over to a sweeping app meaning we will be sending our reports, certificates and reminders digitally doing our bit for the environment.
